Author discussion about a new book on state security in Dresden

In a launch event at the Bautzner Straße Dresden Memorial Centre, historian Heiko Neumann will present his book ‘Ein Ort für “Menschen mit neuem Bewusstsein”. Lebenswelten hauptamtlicher Mitarbeiter der Bezirksverwaltung Dresden des MfS 1950 bis 1989’ in the Festsaal. On this evening, the author, a member of the memorial's supporting organisation ‘Erkenntnis durch Erinnerung e.V.’, will provide fascinating insights into current research findings on the structural and building history and former employees of the Dresden district administration. Sven Riesel, also a historian and Deputy Managing Director of the Saxon Memorials Foundation, will be the author's discussion partner. Questions from the audience are welcome.

The book, Heiko Neumann's dissertation, was published at the end of November 2024 in the Saxon Memorials Foundation series.
