Online-Tour
In the vaulted cellars of today's Bautzner Straße Dresden Memorial, politically non-conformist people were imprisoned by the Soviet occupation forces from 1950 onwards and sentenced to very long prison terms or death. From 1953 to 1989, the area on Bautzner Straße was home to the Dresden district administration of the Ministry of State Security and the associated remand centre. On 5 December 1989, citizens of Dresden occupied the site.
Our speakers report online on the eventful history of today's memorial site. They use historical and current images, original sound and film recordings as well as interview passages. Participants can ask questions and talk to the speakers.
The "Digital Guided Tour" is an offer for school classes and groups that cannot visit the memorial - e.g. due to corona.
The requirements for using the digital guided tour correspond to those of a classic Skype or Zoom conference (fast WLAN or LAN, PC with webcam, loudspeakers).
The "digital tour" offer includes free tickets for the participating group for a later visit to the memorial.
The tour is also offered in foreign languages.
